British 1796 pattern light cavalry sword

This sabre is very similar to the 1811 Prussian “Blücher” sword. It was used by British cavalry, but also by the Prussians, Portughuese, Spanish and by the US in the war of 1812.

Features:

AISI 1065 High Carbon Steel blade,
leather washer at the end of the blade to protect the crossguard,
steel hilt with ribbed black leather grip,
steel scabbard with two suspension rings
slit in the guard for a sword knot
